DONE AT LAST!!

Well, I must say its been a blast. I really learned a lot from this class. I was also happy to learn some of the techniques I have been using all along were actually methods used in the text book. I wish more classes were like this one in the fact that the grunt work of my paper was out of the way by week six (rough draft). It seems to me that I get better grades when I'm forced not to procrastinate when doing my final projects.
The only issue I had with the class was trying to find enough time to finish it all. My job is very demanding and I am have only had 5 days off in the past 2 months (not exaggerating), so just finishing the class was a feat, but I feel even more confident now because not only did I finish, but I finished with an A+. hurrah!!! what a sigh of relief that was.
Well, good luck to everyone in the coming semesters, I hope you all reach your goals.
Take care,

AND WE'RE DONE!!! Unit 9

Hoorahhh, we have done it. Man it has been a long road, but it seems to have gone by way too fast. I am actually relieved to be done with my paper, it is definitely a load off my shoulders. Even though it was some work and I couldn't attend every seminar, I feel that I really gained good, solid knowledge in this course. Ya know, the kind of knowledge you won't forget and will make you better and more professional all around.

After I got my other references done it seemed easier than I had expected in finishing my paper, the material just seemed to fall in place. And I'm also really happy that our professor gave us such extensive feedback, which doesn't happen enough in online classes. She really helped me in fine tuning my skill at writing formally. (so thanks professor) Lets just hope my grade reflects her hard work put into us and this class.
(No, I'm not sucking up, everyone needs a compliment now and again when deserved)
Anyhow, I hope everyone had a great time in this class.
Good luck to everyone in their future endeavors and classes.
Take Care,
Stacey

and then there was more revising unit8

Hello one and all.
I am starting to feel like the revising will never end. This week the style of revising made me googley eyed. The words started running together after a bit. (I only have the wee hours to work on my schooling, so that is generally what happens)
After it was done, I was typing up my discussion post for the week and realized I had started to pay attention to all the prepositions and verbs I could change in every sentence I wrote. How funny. (to me anyway)
Well, I don't really have that much to say at this point, I have been working now for a month and a half without a day off, 6-8 hours being the shortest of my shifts, so forgive me if I seem a bit slap happy and void of conversation.
Anyway, I liked this weeks revising, a lot better than what we've done so far. But I will still stick to my guns in regards to not (overall) enjoying the revising process.
Hope everyone else is having fun with the class!!
See everyone in seminar or discussion board.

revising the draft unit 7

Howdy everyone.
review, review, and review some more. It seems like a never ending process. this is definitely my least favorite part of writing, all the revising and editing. I know most great writers say that editing is best way to go, but I am not, by any means, a great writer. so this makes me feel a little better about NOT enjoying this part.
I hope everyone else is taking more joy out of this unit than I am.
I have a hard time editing, because all i want to do during the writing of the paper is re-read every paragraph i just wrote and edit it right then and there. For me it makes the whole editing process less monotonous and time consuming. But of course i am going to try it the right way, just because i LOVE trying new things!! :)lol.
Hope to see everyone in class next week. sorry I had to leave so abruptly last week, my dog got loose and it took me about an hour to find him. He is such a wiley Reighly!! (He's the chocolaty lab in my blog photo.

Editing and Revising, a post draft outline unit 6

Hello, Hello!!

Well, week six at last. Almost done, it's gone by way too fast. I thought this post draft writing could be a great way to revise without re-reading the whole paper 2 or 3 times. I myself have never used this method before but I might start now. It seems to make the work a lot easier and much more simple to read over and change. I can't believe I never heard of this method before now. It seems pretty basic, I guess I have just been out of the loop. I wonder how much use I will get out of this class when I get out in the real world with my nutrition degree. If I start writing journals or work for a government association where this is normal I can see my extreme use for this information, but I can just not see the light at the end of this tunnel if I won't be producing tons of papers and articles about any particular subject. Well, regardless, I enjoy it while I'm here and that is probably all that matters. Hope everyone is doing well so far. We are almost there.
Take care,

Prewriting techniques Unit 5

Hello all,
I must say, this is really the part I like most about writing a paper, which is putting all my ideas down on paper and organizing them into the desired structure. I don't mean to boast, but I find this part relatively easy and fun. It has been difficult to try and find time to buckle down for this project though. My work schedule has been all day, every day for the past month straight. It is starting to get a little difficult to keep all my thoughts in my head in focus, much less the ones I need to produce for a grade. So I really am glad we have reached "my" easiest part of the process so it won't take me literally forever to finish. I hope everyone else is doing well in this class so far. I know it can be rough if writing and literature are not your strong points. I had a basic college math class last semester that I barely passed with a D-, and I cried every night I had seminar. It was so frustrating.
Anyway, I will see everyone in class next week.

plagurism do's and don'ts/ Unit 4

Well, I think that plagurism is so easy to do when you don't know the rules. I don't think I have ever had any reference to just how extensive plagurism can go until this class. I was a bit astonished at how careful you have to be. I can understand though. If someone had taken my words and used them as their own, I would probably confront that person and make it known that their "ideas" were actually my ideas. I think with some practice I can begin to get the hang of avoiding all the possibillities of plagurising someones work. Besides that, it was actually a bit hard to find particular documents to back up my thesis statement, which was about proper nutrition, exercise, and diets for pregnant women. I tried many different word combo's and it took forever just to find one or two I could actually use. Bummer. But, I did it!
